In a recent case that took place before the Disciplinary Tribunal, solicitor Alexander Henry Bevan was struck off [disqualified from practising] after £200,000 of clients’ money held on trust was taken by his firm. The Tribunal described breach of trust by a solicitor as “amongst the worst sins a solicitor could commit”. Mr. Bevan was additionally ordered to pay costs of £82,500 and another solicitor in the firm was fined £10,000.
