Alison began her legal career at Brooke-Taylors in 1997, qualifying as a Licensed Conveyancer in 2006. After gaining further experience at a local firm, she rejoined Brooke-Taylors in March 2022 as a Director and Head of the Residential and Commercial Property Department. Following the merger of Brooke-Taylors into Lovedays Solicitors, Alison continues to lead the department, bringing extensive expertise in residential and commercial property transactions, unregistered land, agricultural land matters, complex lease arrangements, and representing management companies. She is well regarded for her strong working relationships with local estate agents and her loyal base of longstanding clients. Alison is dedicated to delivering an exceptional level of service, ensuring clear and consistent communication with clients, estate agents, and financial advisers throughout every transaction.
Claire is a solicitor, joining Brooke-Taylors in 1999, after graduating from The College of Law, Chester. Claire specialised in family law for 15 years, but since 2014 specialises in property law, in particular residential sales, and purchases for both leasehold and freehold properties and new builds. She also advises on remortgages, transfers of equity and auction transactions dealing with both registered and unregistered land transactions. She prides herself on her good relationship with the local estate agents and determination to do her best for her clients.
Rachael is an experienced Licensed Conveyancer based at the Bakewell office and has been with the firm for over ten years. Rachael specialises in all aspects of residential conveyancing, including shared ownership and leasehold properties.
Jo Moran joined Lovedays in October 2021 and brings over 20 years’ experience in handling a wide range of Residential Conveyancing transactions, including sales, purchases, transfers of equity, leasehold properties, unregistered titles, re-mortgages, and new builds. Throughout her career, she has worked in and around Chesterfield, Bakewell, Matlock, Mansfield, and Sheffield, developing strong connections with clients and agents in these areas. Jo graduated from The University of Derby with an LLB (Hons) Degree in 2000, completed the Specialist Paralegal Post Graduate Qualification in Property at The University of Strathclyde, and holds the CLC Licensed Conveyancer qualification. In her free time, she enjoys going to concerts, visiting theme parks, and spending time with family and friends.
Nicky specialises in Residential Conveyancing at our Bakewell office and has over 30 years’ experience. Nicky lives near Belper and outside of work loves reading, travelling and eating out.
Pamela is a qualified Licensed Conveyancer regulated by the CLC. Pamela began her legal career in 2015, joining Brooke Taylors’ Property Department in 2017. Pamela possesses a wide range of knowledge in all aspects of property law, to include sale and purchase of leasehold, freehold and unregistered properties, remortgages, and transfer of equities. Pamela has an excellent relationship with clients and estate agents and prides herself on her communication skills, hard work and understanding to help a conveyancing transaction run smoothly. Pamela enjoys spending time with her family, gardening and reading books.
Hayley has been with the firm since 2007, beginning her career as a legal secretary and progressing to her current role as a qualified licensed conveyancer. She enjoys building strong, trusted relationships with clients and takes pride in guiding them through the conveyancing process. Her experience spans a wide range of property transactions, including sales and purchases, leasehold matters, new builds, remortgages, and more complex cases.
Emily is a Conveyancer in our Residential Conveyancing Team. She specialises in a variety of residential Sales, Purchases, Transfers of Equity, Assents and First Registrations. She has been a CILEX Member for over 15 years, currently Advanced Paralegal. She completed her Law Degree at Sheffield Hallam University in 2004 and then went on to complete her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law. Emily will provide you with a personal approach to the conveyancing process, giving you with support throughout the process. In her spare time, Emily enjoys days out with her family and attending her children’s sports events.
Holly Calder is a recently qualified solicitor who joined the firm in 2025, specialising in Residential Conveyancing. With over five years’ experience in conveyancing, she graduated from The University of Law and previously worked at a firm in North Yorkshire before relocating to Manchester. Outside of work, Holly enjoys playing tennis, reading, and volunteering - having travelled to Costa Rica to help save endangered sea turtles.
Mia Tomlinson is a trainee solicitor assisting Pam in the residential property department. She holds a first-class law degree, LPC, and LLM, and brings a varied background including experience in conveyancing and public law children matters. Mia is known for her friendly approach. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, walking her dogs in the Peak District, and travelling to explore new countries.
Richard Horton is a Consultant Solicitor with extensive experience in residential and commercial property law. He enjoys working with families and small businesses, tailoring his approach to meet clients’ needs and offering home visits when required. Richard appreciates the lifestyle that beautiful mid-Derbyshire provides and, on occasion, enjoys getting involved in theatrical pursuits – oh yes he does.
